Connect at Evergreen Online

Learn how to stay connected and engaged at Evergreen while practicing social distancing .

Hello, friend.

We are glad to see you.

There is no denying that these are strange and challenging times. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, the world as we know it has changed. All of our usual rhythms and routines have been overhauled. Many of us are dealing with fears and anxieties as we try to calculate the "what ifs" in all of this, and many of us are experiencing loneliness and disconnectedness as we distance ourselves from friends, family, and...well...everyone.

And yet, as followers of Christ, we know there is hope and peace in the midst of all the uncertainty. While preparing his disciples for his crucifixion, Jesus told them, "Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33

God is an expert at transforming our broken situations into hope-infused opportunities for His new life to move in and take hold.

God is with us. God is for us. And we're all in this together.

Coming Together While Staying Apart

God designed us to be in relationship with Himself and with one another. Our church gatherings and programs may be on hold, but the church goes on...because we are the church.

It may be tempting to spend the next several weeks binge-watching Netflix or consuming the steady stream of news articles providing minute by minute updates on the global pandemic.

But we believe this pause on our normal routines is providing us with an opportunity to establish new rhythms of work, rest, play, and connection. As we weather this storm, we have a unique opportunity to be intentional about drawing close to God and to one another in new ways.

We have several ways for you to connect, engage, and continue to grow in the coming weeks at Evergreen.

Many of our connection opportunities will use a video conferencing platform called Zoom. Zoom is a great way to be able to see and speak others from the safety and comfort of your own home!

Not sure how to use Zoom?

Don't worry - it's really simple! All you need is a device and an internet connection. Download Zoom to your computer, phone, or tablet and click the link provided by your group or event leader. Voilà! Zoom will launch and you will join the meeting.

Still feeling uncertain? Zoom has provided tutorials to walk people through using their program:

Here's how you can stay connected:

Engage in our Online Service on Sundays at 10am

We may not be able to gather in person, but we are excited to share that we are now streaming our service online at 10:00 am on Sundays!

Join us on our YouTube channel so that you can participate in the chat and connect with others while engaging in the service. You can also view the service and interact with others through our Online Church page.

Each week, we will be providing you with conversation questions related to the sermon. Use these questions to generate discussion within your family, Life Group, or with friends. You can find the questions here:

We are also hosting a weekly Q&A Zoom Meeting on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm, where you are invited to ask questions and engage in conversation about the Sunday teaching!

Care for Others in our Church and Community

As we all feel the impact of COVID-19 in different ways, we want to be a church that cares for one another well. We have created a space on our website where you can let us know if you have a need or if you are able to help another person out with a need. Our staff team will be working to connect those with needs with those who are able to help.

Request Prayer

At Evergreen Heights, we believe prayer makes a difference. We have a prayer team at Evergreen that connects regularly and is passionate about praying for the needs of others. We would love to be able to pray for you! You can now easily submit prayer requests through our website and know that people from within the Evergreen family will be holding you in prayer.

Give Online

If you are somebody who gives on a regular basis at Evergreen, know that we are so thankful for you! Your faithfulness in giving allows us to continue to support and disciple people of all ages, to equip Jesus followers with teaching and resources for growth, to fund missionaries and other great ministry, and to take care of the expenses that come with operating a facility and serving our community.

While we are not meeting in person, Evergreen continues to function at full speed on a day-to-day basis. If you are a part of our church family please continue to give as you feel led so that our ministry can continue to happen!

In case you missed it....
